We’re not heading to Washington, D.C., to fix the world. That’s not our assignment—and honestly, it never has been. The world’s biggest problems—poverty, homelessness, injustice— can’t be solved in a weekend. But that doesn’t mean we’re powerless. Jesus didn’t come to eliminate every earthly problem. He said it plainly: “You will always have the poor among you” (Mark 14:7). But He never used that as an excuse to disengage. He entered the lives of the poor, walked with the broken, listened to those the world ignored, touched the untouchable, and spoke dignity to the overlooked. His mission wasn’t just about solutions—it was about presence.

And that’s what this trip is about.

It’s about bringing people face-to-face with Jesus—not through a sermon or a church service, but through simple, acts of love and kindness. A warm conversation. A shared meal. A prayer on a park bench. A reminder that they’re seen. That they matter. That hope still lives. We’re not heading to D.C. to change the whole city. We’re going to let God use us to love a few people really well. To be available. To listen. To serve. To show up in Jesus’ name and trust that every face-to-face moment—no matter how small—is a seed planted in someone’s soul.

You probably won’t come back the same. Because when we step into these moments with Jesus, we meet Him there too.
